Two Books In One Night!

So since I've last posted I have been struggling to finish a book. I have started and quit (but not because they are bad but because they were not what I was looking for): The Secret Circle: The Initiation and The Captive by L.J Smith, Perfect by Natasha Friend, and Picture the Dead by Adele Griffin. I Plan on finishing these books. No Seriously. I do.

I did however, finish TWO books last night.

The first one needs no description, it needs no rating. It just simply needs to be read.

Outcry - Holocaust memoirs

Outcry: Holocaust Memoirs By Mendel "Manny"Steinberg
Free on Kindle!

The second book I finished reading last night was an interesting story of love and music and love for music and loving that the one you love loves music.

Charlie and Pearl by Tammy Robinson

Description On Goodreads:

Charlie is slightly chubby and an occasional reader of women’s lifestyle magazines. He lives with his mum in the same small coastal town where he was born and works in the local bookshop with a boss suffering from the early onslaught of dementia and who wears a pot on his head for a helmet, as he thinks the country is at war.

Pearl has fled to her grandmother's beach house for some time out and to heal after the end of a relationship left her with a life altering revelation.

Their paths collide and Charlie falls instantly in love, although Pearl takes some convincing. She has a secret; one she knows will prevent them from living their happy ever after.

Charlie and Pearl is a quirky love story in the tradition of One Day. It’s a story of unconventional love; of finding that spare part you never knew you were missing, and of what happens when love is simply not enough.

"This is an incredible story. As long as you don't mind getting kicked in the gut, shedding a few tears, and having your heart squeezed at the pain the characters go through, you'll love this book. It's simple, yet elegant. Painful, yet heartwarming. It is put simply, an incredible story told well."

--------

I got this book for (once again) free on my Kindle. It is 192 pages long and written in both Charlie and Pearls views. It is a sweet, sweet story that you will take with you forever. Showing that you do not choose love, you cannot force love, and you cannot beat love. The style of righting makes for a quick, easy read and the actual story makes for a real page turner.

Silence by Natasha Preston

Description on Goodreads:

For eleven years, Oakley Farrell has been silent. At the age of five, she stopped talking, and no one seems to know why. Refusing to communicate beyond a few physical actions, Oakley remains in her own little world.

Bullied at school, she has just one friend, Cole Benson. Cole stands by her, refusing to believe that she is not perfect the way she is. Over the years, they have developed their own version of a normal friendship. However, will it still work as they start to grow even closer?

When Oakley is forced to face someone from her past, can she hold her secret in any longer?

---------

Once again another completely FREE book for your Kindle! Also, another easy read (for me anyways).
If you are looking for a full on love story, that'll remind you of every butterfly you felt in your teen years, I'd definitely download it. But, along with that love you will also have the intense feeling of suspense "Is she going to talk now?! No. Now?!", the feeling of mystery in trying to put the pieces together as to why she won't talk, and heartbreak when you find out.  It is only 206 pages, it took me about 4 1/2 hours to read and had me feigning to turn to the next page at ALMOST every moment.

The next in the series is called Broken Silence and cannot wait to start on it! (As soon as this readers block subsides!)

----------------Spoiler Alert------------
This is a good book! I do have a couple of questions for anyone that has read this book though.

1. Why did she stop talking when she was 5 if she didn't get raped for the 1st time until she was 13?

2. The reason she started going on the fishing trips with her father was because Jackson refused to go anymore. Why did he refuse to go anymore, was the same thing happening to him?

Let me know what you think in the comments and if you have any request for a book review don't be shy!

Clarity by Loretta Lost

The description from Goodreads:

Fiercely independent Helen Winters was born completely blind, but she vowed never to let her disability keep her down. She did not expect a traumatic event to devastate her life and force her to drop out of college. Disillusioned by the cruelty of people, Helen retreated from society to live by herself as a reclusive writer in the woods—where no one could ever hurt her again.

When a brilliant young DOCTOR shows up on her doorstep, promising her that his new research can give her the ability to see for the first time, Helen stubbornly refuses. She has learned not to trust anyone, and to rely only on herself. But Dr. Liam Larson will not take no for an answer. He makes it his personal mission to rescue Helen from her loneliness, and bring joy into her world once more—the joy she has denied herself for so long.

When Helen’s demons come racing back into her life, threatening to rip her apart and destroy the strength she has carefully rebuilt, Liam is the only one who might be able to SAVE her.

Can he reach the broken girl in time, helping her to heal and see the world in a different light? Or will Helen’s grief send her spiraling out of control, lost to him forever?

This book is SO good! It is free-ninety-nine on the Kindle store!

------------------ SPOILER ALERT-----------------

This is the first in a series of FOUR! Yay! I have yet to buy the second for a whopping $2.99 (I say whopping  because I am the cheapest person you will ever read words from!)!

Clarity #1 is about a blind author who was taken advantage of in her school days. She hides off in a cabin, until a (charming) doctor comes and swoons her with hopes of a cure, and soon she will find out...love! It is a romantic comedy, with the right amount of heartfelt drama. The tone is very informal and is an easy quick read at only 158 pages!

I would recommend highly to anyone with readers block or who just loves a good quirky romance!
